Sunday July 9, 2023 ride to Camano Island 374 km
The scheduled ride for today is Camano Island Loop and of course we don’t ride the shortest route. George A, Stan L, Kenny L, Roger P, Grant M, John F, Ken L, Robin Mand Devon M The ride started from McDonalds Langley at 8:00 am with two bikes and rode to the Shell Gas station on D St. in Blaine where seven more were waiting for 8:30 departure from there. I-5 to Fairhaven exit 250 and before challenging the Chuckanut Drive we toured a residential area to see how the people with a view of the ocean live. Riding south on selected roads to reach the beginning of a clockwise loop of Camano Island. Good roads and lots of scenic view. By now it was time head for lunch in Stanwood at Farmers Café where we had to wait about 35 minutes for a table. Once seated our beverages were served and the food order taken. While waiting for the serving of the chosen items from the menu allows for lots of socializing. It took longer than planned for the lunch break, but we still managed to complete the whole planned route and I think get home for dinner at a decent time. Hope the three guests enjoyed the ride today and will join us again soon for another ride.
Next Sunday’s ride is to Keremeos for Cherries, (Hope they still have some)
