LaConner 254 Km. April 10, 2022

The first USA ride since the start of the Pandemic in 2019 was Plotted by Scott
Maynard and led by three of us in turn Scott started, then Grant and finally George
leading the last part. Five bikes rode this ride started from an untraditional starting
Place. This ride started in Blaine where Big Al’s restaurant used to be. We rode close
to the Ocean all the way including the beautiful Chuckanut Drive to Hwy 20 and over
to Reservation rd. to La Conner and back to Hwy 20. North on Old Hwy 99 to
Whatcom Lake and Sudden Valley. Lunch at Tino’s Pizza and was good. WE followed
the north Shore of Whatcom Lake to 542, Working our way back to Peace Arch
crossing on many secondary roads. Starting temperature leaving home was 3
degrees, but buy the time started the ride it was 7°. During the ride we had showers,
and a couple of Hail showers. It was a good fun ride in spite of the few wet spots and
was great to get back onto American roads. We all had our Arrive Can forms filled out
before leaving home and had no issues getting back into Canada.
