Having finished breakfast with Rick McKee at Brogan’s Diner, we rallied at McDonalds to meet 5 other waiting riders. Craig and Bob Vaughn, Brent Rose, Glen Head and much to my surprise Richard Briand sporting a new white 2018 Gold Wing! Richard did casually mentioned to me earlier in the week that he would likely show up with a new bike and sure enough he did. Congratulations Richard! That makes three bikes in three different countries.

Two rides routes were discussed, one to Whistler via Cyprus Bowl, the other, a shorter 220 km ride through the north side of the Fraser. With most of the riders having early afternoon Father’s Day commitments everyone agreed to pursue the shorter ride.
Crossing over the Golden Ears Bridge and then along Lougheed Highway we made a brief stop at the corner of Lougheed and 287 St. to put on rain gear. The rain was temporary as we headed north along 287 St. which connected us to Dewdney Trunk Road, Richard’s Ave., Stave Lake Rd and finally Sylvester Rd. After another stop at the Husky station on Hwy 7 we proceeded east to Harrison. Our stop in Harrison Lake was brief but allowed those with lunches to quickly chow down.
Crossing over the Rosedale Bridge, we proceeded along Camp River Road and then through Chilliwack making slow progress through the city due to traffic and poorly sequenced traffic lights. After finally reaching Yarrow we made our final and longest stop which allowed the everyone to have one more bite to eat before making our way back home early in the afternoon.

Thanks to everyone who participated.
