July 30, 2023 Ride was Fraser Canyon>Ashcroft>Logan Lake>Merritt >Hope and Home 629 km

Seven Bikes with riders George A, Glen H, John F, John K, Dave T, Brent R, Greg G were waiting for the 8:00 am start from McDonalds for this great ride on a sunny day. There is two ways to Hope BC we chose the shortest route, Hwy 1, east to Hope BC where arrived at A&W in Hope where two more joined us, Ken L, and Roger P and after the informal greetings top up the smaller gas tanks we headed north to Ashcroft with only a couple of rest stops along the way. One at the construction site where the bridge is being replaced and one in the shade and at Spence’s Bridge, Gas stop at the ESSO station at the turn onto Cornwall and then on Hwy 97 to the town of Ashcroft where had our packed picnic lunch at Heritage Place Park. It is a very nice shaded place with picnic tables. Next onward to the view point to see the large copper mine before getting to Logan Lake for a pictures in front of the Big truck. Back onto 97 C to Merritt and the traditional DQ Ice cream. Hwy 5 (Coquihalla) to Hope. Where we divided, some went home on Hwy 1 the rest on Hwy 7 and Home. I think everyone had an enjoyable fun day with sun, riding, friends, good roads and ice cream. The picnic lunch you brought I hope was good also.
