We stated the day leaving McDonalds in Langley at 8:00am as usual with five riders and bikes and rode to Blaine WA to meet up with three more where it was more convenient for them to join in. Now eight bikes, we left the parking lot of where Big Al’s restaurant used to be and got onto I-5 headed south to the Fairhaven exit and to Chuckanut drive. This is the best time of the day to ride this wonderful road because there is little traffic in the morning hours. We had to do a detour on Farm to Market road because of construction which worked out ok but added a few extra km’s to the route. Camano Island is a very scenic route with lots of ocean view and great long stretches of good paved roads, Lunch at Farmers Café in Stanwood, food was good as well as service. Home the long way mostly on Hwy 9 and back home at the truck crossing. I believe it was a great days ride for the group, weather was perfect, traffic lite, food was good what more could we ask.
