Seven bikes met at McDonald’s today for our annual ride to Mt. Baker before the annual BBQ. Weather was cloudy with promises from weather person of sun later. First stop was Bobs Burger and Brew in Sumas Washington. The made to order omelette was great, but the rest was ordinary, maybe this was because there was no bacon in the buffet. Breakfast done we headed for Mt. Baker, skies cloudy but looking promising. No rain and roads were in good condition. With temperatures dropping as we elevated we stopped to put on another layer of clothing before gaining much altitude. As we got closer to the top we were in the clouds and it restricted our vision to about a hundred feet. The road was open all the way up and some snow caves were there this year. Back down the same way of course and then onto Mosquito Lake road. Stopped at Acme restaurant for a coffee before heading to Whatcom lake and then over to Chuckanut drive and home before going to Ken and Monica’s place for our annual BBQ,
The BBQ was well attended as always and was hosted by Ken and Monica at their new beautiful house and yard in south Langley . This was the best barbecue we ever have had in all the years. Barbecued ribs and chicken skews were served instead of the usual hamburgers and hot dogs and the were very good. Thanks to the much appreciated dinner, the work of Monica, Ken Nevillle Linda Maynard, Lorraine Rigby and BBQ expert chef Bob Baines. Hope I didn’t forget anyone Pictures Ken’s Pictures
